Poland was the EU’s leading poultry meat exporter in 2016, and its lead over its closest competitors is ever increasing. More than 800,000 tons of poultry meat was exported posting a 17 % increase year-over-year.
However, the average price of
broiler chickens dropped by 5% y/y. Caused
mainly by an increase in production in Poland, the EU and worldwide.
As far as
export destinations, 40% of exports went to the UK and Germany. It is expected production of poultry meat in Poland will
continue to grow, but more slowly than during the past five years.
Poland is also the largest exporter of apples.
